If you are a press representative from a bona fide media organization, you can apply for accreditation for one or more UN organizations. Indico.UN provides a user-friendly interface, which guides you through the accreditation process of the different accreditation offices of UN organizations. If your application is approved, you will be granted a special badge that provides you access to specific events hosted through Indico.UN. Note that the requirements and validity period of such badges are specific to each organization.
When applying for accreditation, you can:
- Apply directly through the Indico.UN user interface, in which case you should have an Indico.UN account.
- Contact a Focal Point to submit your application on-behalf.
Based on the objective and duration of the badge request, accreditations may be categorized as either:
- Temporary. An initial badge request is submitted to attend a specific event/complete an assignment. These badges may be reapplied for (Reapply) to submit requests for other events/assignments. Indefinite re-applications can be submitted.
- Long-term. A badge is requested by default for a period of at least 4 months. Should another badge be required then the process requires the focal point/requestor to Renew the accreditation by submitting another long-term request. The renewal request is by default requested for 1 year starting from the end-date of the initial request. UNIS managers may modify the badge dates as appropriate.
