Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)

To further protect user’s data in Indico.UN, decrease the likelihood of unauthorized access to user’s accounts and to comply with UN security requirements, Indico.UN launched a new multi-factor authentication (MFA) method.

The Indico.UN MFA is a 2-step authentication method requiring users to enter more than the conventional password to securely gain access to the system. At login, all Indico.UN users are asked to enter a password and verify their identity through a verification link contained in an email sent to the email address/user ID provided at login.

Subsequently, upon every login, the following message is displayed:

NOTE 1: The verification link is valid for only 20 minutes.

NOTE 2: A new link may be requested but only after at least 1 minute has elapsed since the previous link request.  This is to avoid repetitive and unnecessary requests.

If a new link is requested before 1 minute has elapsed, a warning message is displayed.

The email including the verification link looks like this:

NOTE 3: If you do not find the link in your inbox within a minute or two, please refresh your inbox and check your spam emails.
